Application Annoyance

I called Threshold Enterprises the other day to check on my resume I had recently submitted and the nice lady in HR suggested that it would be best if I come in and fill out an application.  So I go to 23 Janis Way to pick up and fill out my application and I must say that my experience there was kind of lousy.

First off I pick up the application and sit down in the lobby to fill it out and the young blonde headed girl in the animal print leans out the window and says "Excuse me but you can't fill that out in here (points to the floor with both index fingers).  You have to go outside to do that".  So I go outside.  It is cold and windy so I go to my car to fill out my application which was quite awkward and difficult to do.

Secondly, I finish my application and attach my resume to it and go back inside.  The blonde headed girl is no longer there.  Instead I am met by a guy, pacific islander I think, with wild black hair pulled back into a ponytail.  He takes my application and resume.  I inform him that they have 2 of my resumes but I am submitting another one with my application.  He chuckles and says, "Well, it will be about a month until you hear from anyone, if you hear from anyone.  We get a huge stack of these every day".  All he had to say was thank you and that he would forward my application to the proper place.  That was unnecessary

All in all I felt I was being sized up and looked down upon.  The girl made me feel like I was was being treated like some transient who had come in to shelter from the cold and begging for change.  The guy made me feel like I was low and not good enough for the company.  His chuckle and smirk said to me "Yeah right, as if, you wish you could work here".  Yes I was in jeans but I was on my way to work.  It makes me wonder if my application and resume will make it to the proper location... if it will be seen at all.  I suspect that the only person that will be seeing it it the janitor when he empties out the trash can.  I wonder if everyone gets treated like this when they come in to fill out an application?

I still want to work there and I will still buy their products.  I think it would be a great opportunity for me and I would learn a lot.  I hope they get my application.

Exactly. They have no reason to treat anyone that way. Their attitudes totally portrayed that.
